Etype Services announced it has released three new responsive newspaper website designs upgraded to incorporate its latest technology. The new designs are currently being deployed to new clients and available to 500 existing client sites.

“The new sites are faster and have a fresh updated look on a par with any newspaper in a major metropolitan area,” said Thad Swiderski, president of Etype services

“We serve a variety of newspaper sizes, but today any paper can have an online presence that is world-class.”

The templates include the “New York Times” style, a picture-heavy style, and an advanced cloud-based, data-based platform designed to provide maximum efficiencies for medium-size newspapers and groups.

The New York Times style was selected by the SSNewstelegram.com in Sulphur Springs, Texas, a suburb of Dallas:

They also selected some extra features on the home page, including, “most popular” on the right rail, a section for “My Viewpoints”.

Obituaries run the home page of the new website.

The NorthEast Georgian, on the other hand, selected the large image format, which has a large “hero photo” and promotion for the e-edition to drive higher engagement and subscription sales.

A click on the e-edition promotion is aimed  at conversion:

The templates allow companies to select different home page elements, including promotions of special sections that “annualize them” with a home page showcase.

There is even a widget that scrolls through the newspapers’ print advertisers, allowing for extra promotion.

“Our local community papers in cities with a population of around 20,000 or less need a simple solution,” says Thad Swiderski, president and founder of eType Services

“For larger newspaper groups, Protec’s Millenium CMS has critical advantages over currently available options,” he said. Straus News, an East Coast chain of small weeklies launched recently on the Protec cloud platform.

Etype Services always focuses on using the papers’ digital presence to extend reach and drive print subscriptions,” Swiderski said. “These new designs will help papers achieve this goal.”
